     Vinicius Peixoto, aka Vinas, was born in 1977 and started his percussion studies at the age of 11. The major part of his education was done by self-learning. However, his music development was contributed by two important Brazilian masters: Augusto Arid e Betinho Sodré. At the age of 15 he had his professional carrier kick-off, playing at pubs and night clubs in Sao Paulo City, and also in other inner-state places.

      At the age of 16, he began his works as a studio musician, recording and creating jingles and spots for radio and television. At the same time, he started his carrier teaching music for his first group of percussion students,  still keeping this activity nowadays. In this segment, it is important to mention the concerning in structuring not only a percussionist, but a conscious musician about his function, and preserve and divulgate the culture and traditions  attached in the percussion instruments studies.
      A part of his activities is the research of rhythms and instruments from all over the world. His personal archive has around 1000 catalogued rhythms, over 1600 pictures and hundreds of videos. He is graduated in Mechanical Engineer, specialized in Noise and Vibration, which aids a lot in this area. His graduation thesis relates the sound influence of different materials used to manufacture drums.
     Regarding the current works, Vinas is a member of the groups "Bossa n' Jazz" and "Choro a Três", and is sideman musician for the violonist Ricardo Giuffrida and for the singer Mark Allison. Also, he acts as a free-lancer in recordings, side-man, and create soundtracks for Theater, Radio, Cinema, TV and Dancing shows. As already mentioned, he has a strong actuation in the instructional and research areas. He is the owner of "VP Estudios" studios and of "Real Percussion Loops" company.
